An encore performance with a special tribute to Jeff Beck!
Founded in 2001 by drummer and composer Gregg Bendian, The Mahavishnu Project is dedicated to reviving and bringing to today's audiences the excitement and the transcendent experience of visceral intensity of the early days of jazz/rock in general and the music of the Mahavishnu Orchestra specifically.
The Mahavishnu Project has remained as the only ensemble to have the blessing and praise of every original Mahavishnu Orchestra member, including founder, guitarist and composer John McLaughlin.
“...a little note of appreciation for what you are bringing back to life. ....the beginning of finding my own way in music, and to hear you guys playing those tunes ....is quite amazing.” - John McLaughlin
"What is primary to me is that they are all great musicians. Everyone has to be a good improviser. You have to be able to take them to another place. These guys get there." - Jan Hammer
