Sarah Perrotta’s alluring voice and thoughtful piano driven songs navigate the depths of jazz complexity dressed in pop sensibility. A leading figure of the Hudson Valley music scene, Sarah was the front woman of the indie rock band Outloud Dreamer and has released three solo albums. The most recent, 2021’s Blue to Gold, was warmly received in Europe, where she toured in 2022.

“Perrotta’s latest album Blue to Gold “comes from that other universe, the one where choirs materialize and disappear, where armies of Eighties-flavored guitars percolate on top of global polyrhythms wrapped in delicate, expertly crimped and fluffed layers of synths, mellotron, strings, studio ambiance, and arrangements like geologic strata.” - John Burdick, Hudson Valley One

“With producer Jerry Marotta, who has performed with everyone from Peter Gabriel to Paul McCartney, Perrotta has crafted a major musical milestone with storylines weaving in and out of each other - and texture, lots and lots of texture. Perrotta with Blue to Gold has not only released a great collection of songs - she has found her Holy Grail and is very graciously sharing it with us all.” - John Barry, Barry on the Beat

Born into a musical family, Sarah Perrotta has been singing and composing music since early childhood. Perrotta studied classical piano from a young age and toured European cathedrals and concert halls with a choir as a teenager. She went on to earn a degree in Jazz Studies from The State University of New York and released her debut album Drink the Sky with her acclaimed electro-pop indie band Outloud Dreamer (a duo with bassist/producer Carl Adami) when she was nineteen. Drink the Sky received rave reviews including Best Modern Rock Album of the year from WKZE 98.1FM radio, was endorsed by industry giants Sennheiser and had syncs for several documentaries and film soundtracks including rock climbing documentaries (Dosage Volume 1, Frustration Equals Motivation) and Changing Identities, a story of traumatic injury and art narrated by actress Meryl Streep.

While working as a side musician with other bands, Perrotta crossed paths with organist and pianist Garth Hudson of The Band. Perrotta went on to study piano with Hudson for several years at her home studio and record with him on her album The Well which also features renowned bassist Tony Levin (of King Crimson, Peter Gabriel). The Well was recorded at Leopard Studio in Stone Ridge, NY and was mixed by Grammy award-winning producer Malcolm Burn (Emmylou Harris, Daniel Lanois). Following the release of The Well, Perrotta toured internationally with major acts including Guster, Jason Colette of Broken Social Scene and The Barenaked Ladies. Songs from The Well were featured on NBC Adventure Sports episodes and surfing competitions.

Perrotta’s third album Tonight features Perrotta's lilting signature vocal work but this time takes a departure from the piano to delve into Rhodes, Moog, Wurlitzer, MicroKorg and Hammond alongside guitarist/vocalist Johnnie Wang, drummer Will Olsen and returning bass legend Tony Levin. Tonight was produced by Chris Bittner and recorded at Applehead Recording Studio in Woodstock, NY. Songs from Tonight including live footage of Perrotta and her band were featured in a Pepsi-Cola commercial.

Perrotta’s fourth and latest album Blue to Gold was recorded at the iconic Dreamland Recording Studio, a former church in the heart of the Catskill Mountains near Woodstock, NY. Produced by legendary drummer Jerry Marotta (of Peter Gabriel, Hall & Oates, Paul McCartney), Perrotta and Marotta spent several years cultivating the sonics and songs of this stellar album. In addition to her lush vocals and melodic piano, Sarah utilizes a variety of keyboards and synths on Blue to Gold including the Mellotron, Rhodes, Wurlitzer, Moog, and even a toy piano. The steady masterful drumming of Jerry Marotta sets the foundation for Sarah Perrotta’s captivating voice and songwriting. Lifelong friends and musicians were enlisted to collaborate and enrich the textures of Blue to Gold including Tony Levin (King Crimson, Peter Gabriel), Sara Lee (Gang of Four, The B52s), Marc Shulman (Suzanne Vega), Bill Dillon (Robbie Robertson), Pamela Sue Mann (David Carbonara), Gerry Leonard (David Bowie), Heather Masse (The Wailin' Jennys),  Daniel Weiss (Joan Osbourne), Rupert Greenall (The Fixx) and string arrangement by Italian film composer Enzo DeRosa. The album was mixed by Michael Cozzi and mastered by Chris Athens while the limited edition, deluxe vinyl package was mastered by Chris Muth.

Blue to Gold released October 2021 with 7D Media/Third Star Records in the USA and Canada and 8 Hours Records in Europe.
