Based in the Hudson Valley, Pocket Merchant is a jazz-fusion quartet featuring Justin Geyer on keyboards, Alden Slack on saxophone, Marco Spodek on drums, and Adriana Tampasis on flute. This ensemble emerged from the group’s interest in free jazz and its collaborative, expressive style. Pocket Merchant is recognized for their big sound and groove-based energy, incorporating both through-composition and improvisation into their performances. Their music is eclectic and fun, inviting the audience with moments in their music to both reflect and dance.
Ian Romer is a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer living in Philadelphia, PA. Ian earned his BFA in audio engineering from CUNY City College and began assisting in the recording of live orchestral performance at the New York Philharmonic. In 2015, he joined the Brooklyn-based experimental pop group Pavo Pavo as a vocalist and bassist. The band released two full length records on Bella Union and toured internationally. He has also performed with Tall Heights, Eleanor Friedberger, Rivergazer, Picoromanesque, and Best Breakfast. As an engineer, he has edited and mixed sound for film, television, and musical releases. In 2022, Ian released his first solo record.
