“...blown away by Peter Prince and the way he connected with the crowd... someone else could have exuded the same energy and skill and enthusiasm, but his whole presence was so genuine that it was infectious. You could tell that none of it was rehearsed or contrived, he didn’t practice it in the mirror the day before, it was just flowing naturally and it made you want to jump up and dance.” –The Wire

“His soulful voice rides atop the band's funky grooves... blistering guitar... a rare case of a musician whose instrumental voice is almost interchangeable with his vocal one.” –Allmusic.com

Peter Prince is widely recognized in the independent music scene with fans from all walks of life and generations, including many respected celebrity-level musicians. To date, Prince has released seven original work albums, written hundreds of songs and compositions, and has honed a broad range of advanced level skills across songwriting, production, performance, and visual arts. He currently performs live at diverse venues — from premier nightclubs to colleges and festivals, with a rotation of top notch players behind him — delivering an incredible show, proven to impress even the most skeptical audiences. He is also actively writing and recording new music, for entertainment as well as commercial publishing, licensing and special projects.

Peter's musical saga began in New York City in 1993, with Peter at the helm as lead vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter of Moon Boot Lover — a power-packed ensemble consisting of Alan Evans (Soulive), and Owen Yost (Tommy James), and later joined by keyboardist Neal Evans (Soulive) and bassist John Hawes (Percy Hill). The band swiftly gained popularity in the emerging independent jam band scene, with Peter honored to co-host the first annual Jammys — an awards ceremony presented by Jambands.com and Relix Magazine, along with Jambands.com Editor-in-Chief Dean Budnick.

In 1997, band members went their separate ways to pursue diverse stylistic paths while Peter continued to build on the spark lit under the namesake of Moon Boot Lover, along with plenty of side projects and solo endeavors as well. Leveraging a deep network of talented players, and attracting a wide cast of crew members rotating in and out of MBL's lineup — Peter has remained the indomitable source of musical gravity as Lover's perpetual front man — orbited over the years by such notable talents as drummers Andy Herrick (Assembly of Dust), Mike "Slam" Dunkle and Swiss Chris (John Legend), bassists Nate Edgar (John Brown's Body, The Nth Power) and Jeremiah Hosea (James Blood Ulmer, Gloria Gaynor, and Earthdriver), and keyboardist Jeff Merrow.

After spending two years fronting Peter Prince & The Trama Unit (2001-2003) — a Muscle Shoals-influenced project that featured Johnny Trama (Ghosts of Jupiter), Eric Kalb (Charlie Hunter, Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings), and the Benevento/Russo Duo — Peter resumed the mission he first launched back in 1993 with Moon Boot Lover: writing, recording, and performing what might only be described as his very own brand of "Rock-ET Soul" — an electrifying blend of the enchantment of Al Green, the guitar wizardry of Jimi Hendrix, the spellbinding songwriting of Jim Croce, and the rock grandeur of Grand Funk Railroad and Led Zeppelin.

Having toured the country many times over, Peter has performed and recorded with such diverse musical talents as the Derek Trucks Band, Dave Matthews collaborator Tim Reynolds, Steve Kimock, Doug Wimbish (Living Colour), Oteil Burbridge, Grace Potter & the Nocturnals, John Medeski (Medeski Martin & Wood), Page McConnell (Phish), Bernard Purdie (James Brown, B.B. King), Keller Williams, Poogie Bell (Herbie Hancock), Jennifer Hartswick (Trey Anastasio Band), Drew Emmitt (Leftover Salmon), Lettuce, Jesse Dee, Ryan Montbleau, Reed Mathis (Tea Leaf Green), Aaron Maxwell (God Street Wine), Toussaint Liberator, Percy Hill, Deep Banana Blackout, John Brown's Body, Nephrok, Sam Kininger, Conehead Buddha and moe. He has also shared the stage with the legendary Johnny Winter, Frank Zappa vocalist/guitarist Ike Willis, Levon Helm, Rick Danko, Umphrey's McGee, David Johansen, Koko Taylor, Michael Franti, John Scofield, The String Cheese Incident, Jazz Is Dead, Charlie Hunter, The Samples, G. Love & Special Sauce, Disco Biscuits, Martin Sexton, Tom Tom Club, Col. Bruce Hampton and The Aquarium Rescue Unit, Maceo Parker, Pee Wee Ellis, Fred Wesley, Bernie Worrell, Ed Hamell (Hamell On Trail), Dave Gutter & the Rustic Overtones, Paranoid Social Club, Screaming Headless Torsos, Zach Deputy, Assembly of Dust, Strangefolk, The Figgs, God Street Wine, Chris Barron (Spin Doctors), Wasabi (feat. John Popper, Mark White, Erik Sckenkman and Aaron Comes), Jazz is Dead (feat. Jimmy Herring, T. Lavitz, Alphonso Johnson and Rodd Morgenstein), Galactic, Tinsley Ellis, and Napoleon Murphy Brock. Peter is also a member of the Earthdriver.org musical family including Ryan Waters (Prince, Sade), Bemshi, Olu, Mark Lesseraux (the Citizens), Imani Uzuri, Shariff Simmons, Suga Bush, Jerome Jordan, Rick Derringer, Reeves Gabrels, Groove Holmes, Tree and many more...
