Lost Leaders is a rock & roll collaboration featuring Byron Isaacs of The Lumineers (bass/vocals), Peter Cole (gtr, vocals), Will Bryant (keys/vocals) & TBD (drums).
Lost Leaders' partnership grew from a collaboration that has lasted through years of weirdness and magic - through Byron’s time with the Levon Helm Band, with Helm’s daughter, Amy, in the bands Ollabelle and Amy Helm & the Handsome Strangers and their time on Columbia Records touring with Ryan Adams, Diana Krall and others. It lasted through Peter Cole's time in Lava Baby and a strange NYC power-pop journey. Isaacs has strong ties to the Hudson Valley as a member of the Woodstock-based Levon Helm Band and now performs with The Lumineers.
Initial inspiration for The Yards started with Lee Collins (drums) when he recruited frequent collaborators Sam Cousins (guitar) and Peter Angelo (bass) for a Brooklyn festival to perform a set comprised entirely of the first album by seminal funk innovaters The Meters. Jon Cousins (guitar) and Bert Jantsch (organ/keys) also came on board for the gig and from note one of the first rehearsal the group fell right into a tight pocket. The festival performance also had that same easy chemistry, so the group is carrying on as a unit to continue exploring funky music drawing inspiration from all their individual musical projects which range from alternative, to jazz, to punk, to pop and so on. Members of the group split their time between Brooklyn and Woodstock, NY.
