THE GOSPEL OF LOVE CONCERT
Frank A. Haye & the Brooklyn Interdenominational Choir:
"We believe the power of music transcends our cultural, political, financial, and religious differences to expose that which we truly share: faith, hope, and love", says Frank A. Haye, the Brooklyn Interdenominational Choir's Founder, Artistic Director, and Conductor. With that thought in mind, Haye and BIC venture out to places of worship/interfaith/peace gatherings, concert halls, rock/jazz/blues venues, music festivals, fashion shows, movie screenings, art galleries, disaster relief benefits, Hiroshima & Nagasaki atomic bombings peace commemorations, green/ecological events, clubs, schools, hospitals, senior centers, shelters, transit hubs, expos/conventions, plays, rallies, weddings, tributes, street fairs, and community/private events. From abroad in Italy, Egypt, China, and Haiti, and domestically at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, Carnegie Hall, The Japan Society, Radio City Music Hall, The Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree, Prospect Park, Central Park, The National Black Theater, & St. Patrick's Cathedral, BIC has uplifted audiences with gospel, inspirational, classical, popular, and world music.
Alexis P. Suter:
When the late, great Bluesman B.B. King first heard Alexis sing, he was visibly impressed and said so after her opening set for him at BB Kings in NYC. Shaking his head in wonder in his characteristic way, he remarked: “It’s a rare thing to share the stage with great talent like that young lady.”
Alexis and the band have earned similar honors from other well-known musicians and performers, including Dan Aykroyd and Levon Helm of The Band. Suter and her band have been blazing trails and taking their music to festivals and venues both nationally and internationally.
Their soon to come new album "Love Always Wins" takes modern roots, soul and blues in new directions, pushing the form just a bit beyond its normal boundaries with
Suter's powerful and deep soulful voice charging forward. The new album is being produced by Byron Isaacs.
The band burst on to the music scene as regular performers at Levon Helm’s legendary Midnight Rambles in Woodstock, NY. Levon was captured by what he called Alexis’ wonderful spirit and had the band open for him nearly 100 times.
"She is one of those wonderful spirits, she's got her arms around you; you can feel that” Helm has said.
