Born in North Carolina, Chris Bowman landed in New York in 1981, where he became involved in studio sessions and the downtown music scene. He co-founded Shock Exchange with Dave Bryant and John Turner. Their first album was graced by liner notes by Ornette Coleman. During this time, Chris worked and recorded with Jon Hassell’s Fourth World Music, Paul Bley, Annette Peacock, Percy Jones, Jane Ira Bloom, Ratzo Harris, Larry Rivers, Frank Kimbrough, Dave Binney, Wadada Leo Smith. Extended Shock family gigs included Jamaaladeen Tacuma, Bern Nix, George Garzone, Badal Roy, Kenny Wessel and Bob Gullotti. In the mid 90's a member of the groups Crimes of Passion, Urban Survival, PUC and Mr. Rusty. In December of 2006, Dave Binney and CHBO released a three song ep of duets from a long running recording project ...on Mythology Records. Chris has session credits with AT&T, Burger King, Ford, Kit Kat, Sesame Street, Legg’s, and Showtime. He was guest percussionist on The System’s “Don’t Disturb This Groove” on Atlantic Records; Dave Bryant’s “Eternal Hang” on Accurate Records which received 4 stars in DownBeat; which was listed in the Boston Top 10 Jazz Albums of that year. In 1987, Chris founded CHBO Inc., the NYC-based acoustical design and construction firm with over 200 audio and video rooms to its credit. November 2005 brought the opening of Jack and Luna's cafe' in Stone Ridge, NY which flourished into 2013 offering acoustic jazz with a who's who of wonderful artists. 2013 was the opening of CHBO Drums in New Paltz, NY. 

Neil Leonard is a composer, saxophonist and transdisciplinary artist. His work ranges from solo concerts for saxophone/live electronics, to works for orchestra, audio/video installation and sound for dance, theater and performance. His compositions/performances were featured by Carnegie Hall, Boston Globe Jazz Festival, Music acustica (Beijing), International Computer Music Convention (Montreal), Tel Aviv Biennial for New Music, Moscow Autumn, Auditorium Parco della Music (Rome), Museo Reina Sofia (Madrid), Panama Jazz Festival, Jazz Plaza International Festival (Havana). Leonard’s ensemble featured Marshall Allen (Director of Sun Ra Orchestra), Bruce Barth, Joanne Brackeen, Don Byron, Uri Caine, Kenwood Dennard, Robin Eubanks, Oriente Lopez, Rudresh Mahanthappa, He has collaborated with Juan Blanco,, Richard Devine, Stephen Vitiello. Leonard is the Artistic Director of Berklee College of Music's Interdisciplinary Arts Institute. He is currently on the Fulbright Specialist Roster and is a Research Affiliate at MIT program in Art, Culture and Technology.

Keyboardist and composer Dave Bryant is best known for his work as a member of Ornette Coleman’s Prime Time group. Bryant’s addition to the group marked Ornette Coleman’s first extended work with a keyboard instrument in decades. Starting in 1990, Bryant toured as part of the group and performed on the Prime Time “Tone Dialing” CD. During Bryant’s tenure with Prime Time, the band also performed with Jerry Garcia of the Grateful Dead, Lou Reed and Laurie Anderson, and numerous symphony orchestras throughout the world, including the New York Philharmonic Orchestra under conductor Kurt Mazur.

Jim Donica is a bassist, composer, teacher, sideman, and bandleader who has performed and recorded with some of the finest artists in the world. Donica can be heard on landmark recordings such as Maynard Ferguson’s, “Big Bop Nouveau”, the soundtrack recording of "Permanent Record” and "Trash City", with Punk Rocker Joe Strummer and with MCA recording artists The David Becker Tribune, on “Long Peter Madsen” and “Siberian Express”. His long standing and ongoing gig as bassist for the legendary, Chita Rivera has taken him around the world playing for audiences who just can’t get enough of Broadway royalty.

Ken Wessel is a versatile, sensitive and soulful guitarist and composer. A vital and personal voice on the jazz guitar, Wessel has been involved in projects playing jazz, ranging from straight-ahead to free music. Ken is also very interested in creating and investigating points of intersection between jazz and Indian music and has performed and recorded with musicians from various parts of the globe. He has performed in 27 countries at major jazz festivals, concert halls and in radio and television appearances.
