Poet Gold's POELODIES Celebrates Women's History
March is Women's History Month
The Library of Congress, National Archives and Records Administration, National Endowment for the Humanities, National Gallery of Art, National Park Service, Smithsonian Institution and United States Holocaust Memorial Museum join in commemorating and encouraging the study, observance and celebration of the vital role of women in American history.
Gold assembles a fresh new line-up of brilliant spoken word and musical artists every fourth Wednesday, at The Falcon Underground, New York Taproom & Beer Garden. The Falcon's highly encouraged DONATION policy will support these wonderful living artists.
Special Guest: Andréa The Realxst
Andréa The Realxst is a spoken word poet from Kingston, NY, has written and performed countless spoken word poems for numerous audiences, ranging from open mic shows to intercollegiate and professional development conferences.
Her style is as humorous as it is introspective realism, with poems ranging from inspirational and motivational, to light and humorous, to deep and thought-provoking. Andréa incorporates movement and emotion into her pieces allowing her audience to truly "feel" her words. According to Andréa, "Poetry is a gift for all to enjoy".
Special Guest: DJ Selekta Tali
Naphtali Bless aka DJ Selekta Tali One of California, a vinyl set Dj & artist has been rocking venues for many years. A few of these include: The Vinyl Destination, The Funkshon with Slow train theatre productions & Dance night @ Duffy's. She's a Creative Movement Specialist and has spent most of her professional life working with children. DJ Selekta Tali now resides in the Mid-Hudson Valley.
Special Guest: Mary Louise Kiernan
Mary Louise Kiernan’s poetry has been published in Sanskrit, The Delmarva Review, Pudding Magazine, Hudson Valley Echoes, Chronogram, ArtSpace, Tempe Writers Forum, Common Ground Review, Broad River Review, Inscape, and the Metropolitan Diary in The New York Times. Mary Louise was awarded the 2015 Poetry Prize co-sponsored by Tempe Public Library and Arizona State University.
Writing workshops attended include: Finding Our Voices: Women and Creativity, at SUNY Orange Campus, with the late Lucille Clifton; The Omega Institute, with Sharon Olds; The New York State Writers Institute, with Peg Boyers, at Skidmore College; the 2016 Sunken Garden Poetry Festival, with past U.S. Poet Laureate Juan Felipe Herrera; and a Master Class Workshop, at SUNY Orange Campus, with Molly Peacock.

Poet Gold’s poetry balances the written word with performance, delivering Spoken Word Poetry that is both transformative and entertaining. She is the recipient of the 2016 Dutchess County Executive’s “Artivist” award and appointed the 2017 and 2018 NYS Dutchess County Poet Laureate. Poet Gold is the recipient of numerous awards. With countless recitations, she has opened for Grammy-nominated artists and has spoken at renowned organizations such as Omega Institute and Self Employment in the Arts.
Poet Gold is an activist of the heart. Her words inspire to explore the essence of humanity.
