Shiri Zorn Quartet
"Shiri Zorn provides a voice that cuts through you...and doesn't let go until she decides to let you go."
Shiri Zorn: Vocals
Special Guest: George Muscatello: Guitar
Lew Scott: Bass
Peter O’Brien: Drums
International jazz vocalist, Shiri Zorn, trained in Israel, Europe and the United States, has been collaborating with one of the most innovative and exceedingly talented guitarists, George Muscatello, for almost a decade. Zorn’s ethereal voice (referred to as an instrument in the group) blends perfectly with Muscatello’s signature flights of fretboard wizardry.
"His tones sometimes sound like a Rhodes electric or a clean chiming synthesizer… notes come from his gingers you swear you haven’t heard before..." - Waynesword2 at Saratogo.com
Together with drummer extraordinaire, Peter O’Brien, and one of the area’s best bass players, Lew Scott,
they present a project which aims to turn standard jazz repertoire on its head. American Songbook tunes
take in Middle Eastern influences and unusual time signatures, re-harmonized Latin or Samba classics get a
free improv makeover.
