Chris O'Leary Band with The Jimmys
"The Jimmys are one hard act to follow at a blues festival... they've got it all: songs, musicianship and showmanship. Great Guys. Great sounds!”
-Tinsley Ellis, Recording Artist
“Killer horns, greasy guitars, funky keys, and a rhythm section with a heart and soul the size of Braszil. This is a GREAT band that plays blues and everything else in between. Get ready for The Jimmys!"
-Bryan Lee, Braille Blues Daddy
“The Jimmys are one of the summer festival season's top 10 acts”
-Arnold Goodman, Elmore Magazine
Blues Blast Magazine nominees for 2016 Best Contemporary Blues Album of the Year - "Hot Dish"
2017 Best Live Blues Album of the Year - "Live from Transylvania"
Over the past seven years The Jimmys have solidified their brand of Blues and R&B across the Midwest, Canada, Europe and the Caribbean. Led by multiple award-winning keyboardist/organist Jimmy Voegeli, the band has been named a “festival favorite” in numerous reviews and magazines.
With Voegeli is an all-star rhythm section of Mauro Magellan (Georgia Satellites) drums; John Wartenweiler (The Crashers) bass; and the blues veteran Perry Weber (Hubert Sumlin) on guitar.
Their unique sound is capped off with Wisconsin’s best horn section featuring Pete Ross (Glenn Miller Orchestra) saxophone; Mike Boman (Youngblood Brass Band) trumpet; and Kevan Feyzi (Orquesta Latin Pride) trombone. These three honed their skills over the years playing with the original Funky Drummer himself, Clyde Stubblefield.
"The Jimmys continue climbing charts and blazing new trails, leaving smiling faces and dazzled crowds wherever they go."
Hell or Heaven
Chris O Leary Band
Their current release - "7 Minutes Late" - is fully loaded with 12 new original fractured tales of hope and despair. O'Leary s exceptionally impressive songwriting, impassioned singing and harp work are on full display on this release. Chris will be on tour throughout the US and Europe, with his incendiary collection of well-seasoned players.
Chris O'Leary/Lead Singer/Harp, Chris Vitarello/Guitar, Matt Raymond/Bass, Andy Stahl/Tenor Sax, Chris DiFrancesco/Baritone Sax and Jason Devlin/Drums.
The Chris O'Leary Band's music is rooted in the blues and steeped in the tradition of Memphis, Chicago and New Orleans with shades of New Orleans, rockabilly and big, high-energy sound. Levon Helm can be heard in Chris's early sessions, and sitting in with regular gigs. Soon, Levon asked Chris to join the house band at his new club in New Orleans. Chris’s band relocated and became the focal point of Levon Helm's Barn Burners, backing up touring stars and opening for New Orleans' finest players.
Awards include Blues Blast Best New Artist Debut winner and BMA nominee.
