"Trombonist/Composer, Joe Fiedler is known to critics as "among the most impressive trombonists to emerge in the past couple of decades" (Harvey Pekar, Signal to Noise) and "an MVP in configurations that range from salsa bands to the jazz avant-garde" (Time Out New York). This performance features his latest project, "Big Sackbut"-- showcasing an all-star line-up of low brass soloists. The unique instrumentation of 3 trombones and tuba draws its inspiration from other horn driven ensembles such as The World Saxophone Quartet. The repertoire features a mix of originals along with new interpretations of covers ranging from Bennie Wallace to Willie Colon."
