Pedro Giraudo

The Pedro Giraudo Jazz Orchestra

The Pedro Giraudo Jazz Orchestra is being hailed as one of the most daring and creative ensembles on the scene today. In the latest issue of Downbeat, John Murph calls their latest album ("El Viaje") “an opulent listening experience of modern, orchestral jazz, brimming with passionate improvisations, deliberate contrapuntal melodies and plush harmonies.” They've been performing regularly at the Jazz Standard, Birdland, jazz Gallery, Joe's Pub.. Pedro Giraudo, in the tradition of such composers as Duke Ellington and Charles Mingus, highlights the unique talents of each band member, masterfully weaving together pre-composed and improvised elements.

Originally from Cordoba Argentina, Pedro Giraudo moved to New York City in 1996. Since then he has become an in-demand bass player and arranger working in a great variety of musical projects. He has performed professionally with Pablo Ziegler, Kenny Garret, Marco Granados, William Cepeda, Chris Washburn, and Eternal Tango;, and recorded with Fernando Oteros X-Tango, Marta Topferova, Lucia Pulido, Mo'Guajiro & Jess Jurkovic.
