Steven Bernstein (Trumpet)

Erik Deutsh (keys)

Jeff Hill (Bass)

Ben Perowsky (Drums)

Currently a resident of Brooklyn, NY, pianist Erik Deutsch does a little bit of everything. He's recently worked with Norah Jones, Jim Campilongo, Ben Perowsky, and Sasha Dobson after wrapping up three years in the Charlie Hunter Trio and time on the road with Kristina Train and Erin McKeown. Erik just performed with Ben Allison at the Falcon this past June.

This evening's concert will showcase a new band featuring Grammy Award-Nominated trumpeter Steven Bernstein (Levon Helm, Sex Mob); Bassist Jeff Hill (Rufus Wainwright, Joan Baez); and drummer Tony Mason (Paula Cole, Charlie Hunter).

Erik's music reflects a unique balance of jazz, rock, and rhythm and blues while presenting his fresh and recognizable voice. Deutsch's new record, Hush Money, was released in 2009 to great acclaim.

"Once upon a time, there was such a thing as an instrumental pop hit. If the charts still had room for the likes of the Allman Brothers' "Jessica" and Herbie Hancock's "Rockit," not to mention the JB's and MG's, then Erik Deutsch would be assured a place atop them." --Philadelphia City Paper

"Erik Deutsch, a pianist with a taste for tuneful provocation, is an especially valuable resource as a solo commentator and accompanist.” – NY Times

" (Deutsch has) cemented his reputation as one of the most in-demand sidemen of Brooklyn’s nascent jazz renaissance.” –Jazz Times Magazine
