Bassist/composer Todd Sickafoose’s band is a marvel of musical cross-breeding, pairing indie rock muscle and whimsy with the extended forms, timbres, and sophistication of a jazz orchestra. Their newest recording "Tiny Resistors" (Cryptogramophone) has been called "thoroughly original, endlessly creative...one of the year's most compelling listens" (JazzTimes), "stunningly brilliant...a modern jazz masterpiece" (Bassplayer), and "a one-disc explanation of why today's Brooklyn jazz scene is so exciting" (HotHouse). Sickafoose's bandmates are experienced genre-benders, having spent years of musicmaking with everyone from Norah Jones, Andrew Bird, Ani DiFranco and Snoop Dogg to Ravi Coltrane, Steve Coleman, Kurt Rosenwinkel and Cuong Vu. Shane Endsley and Ben Wendel, in addition to being 2/3 of the horn section on Tiny Resistors, are co-founders of the math-jazz juggernaut Kneebody. This will be Tiny Resistors' first time at the Falcon- please join us!

Opening Act :: Greg Klyma
Falcon Arts Center

Greg's Website

Born in Buffalo, NY on his father's bowling night, songwriter/musician/entertainer Greg Klyma grew up in a blue-collar town with a blue-collar work ethic and an appreciation of blue-collar fun. He has matured into man of homespun, timeless elegance, often clad in a vintage wear, and telling stories with a delightful precision of language. The stories blend seamlessly into songs, evoking a flavor of Mark Twain, Woody Guthrie, and David Sedaris. Klyma is touring in support of his 7th independently release solo album title PianoMandoNation.

Dinner Begins at 5 pm, Opening Act 7pm, Headliner 8pm.
