Falcon Arts Center

Nadav's Myspace

Nadav Snir Zelnike (Drums)

Ted Rosenthal (Piano)

Todd Coolman (Bass)

Born in Israel in 1974, Nadav started playing drums at the age of 16. Soon he became involved with the local Israeli music scene, playing and recording with different Rock & Jazz artists. Throughout these years Nadav has absorbed elements and flavors of the local Mediterranean-music traditions. In 1999, after receiving several honorary scholarships, such as the Israel-America Cultural Foundation and the Ulledorff Foundation, Nadav was able to move to the US and got his BFA degree in music-performance from the Conservatory of Music at SUNY-Purchase College. Soon after his arrival in New York, Nadav became highly involved with the local music scene. His versatility enabled him to perform & record with artists from different genres.

Amongst the many artists Nadav has worked with are: Jon Faddis, Stella Mars, Arthur Lipner, Adam Rogers, Gene Perla, KJ Denhert, James Camack, Pete Malinvenri, Doug Munro, Tony Purrone, Francois Moutin, Cameron Brown, Shunzo Ono, Heather Cornell & Manhattan Tap, Machan Taylor, Dekel Bor Trio, MacTalla Mo’r, Kenny Lee, Pete Levin, The Burr Johnson Band, Neil Alexander & NAIL, PENAMACH and many more. Nadav has also collaborated with several modern dance companies, such as David Parsons Dance, Doug Varone and Dancers, José Limón and Nelly van Bommel’s NØA DANCE.

In the summer of 2009 Nadav teamed-up with jazz veterans pianist Ted Rosenthal and bassist Todd Coolman to explore new compositions as well as fresh arrangements for well-known standards. Together they recorded Nadav’s debut CD, entitled “Thinking Out Loud”. As in the words of Todd Coolman: “find a comfortable easy chair and take a few moments to sit back, relax, and enjoy a multi-faceted and informed conversation between three jazz musicians who simply set out to have some fun and do some Thinking Out Loud.”
